Impedance cardiography is a noninvasive method for haemodynamic monitoring (cardiac output, systolic time intervals) and cardiological diagnosis. You can find more detailed information regarding the measurement principles on our method page.

The cardioscreen system is a computer driven impedance cardiography device. With this system we match:

  • an excellent measurement hardware for an accurate and easy to use measurement
  • with

  • latest signal processing technology for safe, accurate and reproducible detection of relevant curve points (as the basis for the calculation of the different haemodynamic parameters)
  • and

  • a powerful but user friendly interface.

The following haemodynamic parameters can be monitored (as large numbers on monitoring screen, on trending screen or bar charts):
  • Stroke volume
  • Cardiac output, cardiac index
  • Heart rate
  • Peak flow, peak flow index, velocity index
  • Pre-ejection period
  • Left ventricular ejection period
  • Systolic time ratio
  • Thoracic fluid index
  • Systemic vascular resistance, left ventricular work (additional input of blood pressure necessary)

For adjustments of individual pacemaker settings (e.g. AV interval), special software is available.

In contrast to impedance cardiographic devices from some other manufacturers our technology allows:

  • Measurements with common ECG disposable electrodes. No special expensive disposables required!
  • Because of the excellent signal quality, the shape of the impedance curve is clearly visible. This enables easy cardiological screening by only watching the curve shape.
  • Markers in the curve make the signal processing transparent for the user and give control about the basis of the parameter calculation, regarding the slogan: "Believe only what you see."
