LRR - Light-Reflection-Rheography |
|
Light-Reflection-Rheography (LRR) commonly describes the diagnosis of insufficiencies of the venous valves in the lower extremities. This is a very common venous disease and could be the result of thromboses (post-thrombotic syndrome).
Therefore a venous reflux test - also called tip-toe-test or muscle pump test - is performed. The exercise test allows a fast and non-invasive diagnosis and is very suitable for a first or screening examination. If there is suspicion of disease, further examination may need to be carried out, depending on the severity of the disease. Examples of such further examinations would be Doppler-examination or phlebodynamometry (invasive measurement of peripheral venous blood pressure during exercise test).
